Two
corporations have helped provide seed funding to launch the NAPT Foundation.
School bus manufacturer International Bus and Truck Corporation donated $20,000,
and New York regional school bus company Independent Coach donated $10,000 to
provide the NAPT Foundation with seed money to help address issues impacting
pupil transportation nationwide.
Founded
in 2002, the NAPT Foundation is committed to increasing the number of children
using school bus transportation nationwide, encouraging schools to acquire newer,
safer and more environmentally-friendly vehicles and help schools acquire their
fair share of state and federal transportation aid.
NAPT
Foundation President Mr. Robert Pape accepted the donations on behalf of the
organization. Representing the donors were Mr. Thomas Cellitti of International
Truck and Bus, and Mr. Nicholas Fabrizio of Independent Coach. "The Foundation
was founded to provide educational opportunities for the school bus industry.
Only through the generosity and long-term vision of people like Mr. Fabrizio
and Mr. Cellitti is such an initiative possible", Mr. Pape stated.
