Don
M. Carnahan
Renton, Washington
Vice President of Business Development for Zonar Systems Inc. America's leading provider of fleet telematics for the pupil transportation industry.
Don has 40 years' experience in school transportation.
He served 9 years as a teacher and administrator in Renton
School District, and spent 22 years in the Department of
Education in the State of Washington. Don was president
of the National Association for Pupil Transportation,
the National Association of State Directors of Pupil
Transportation, the Washington Traffic Safety Education
Association, served on the Board of Directors of the
American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association
and the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute. In 2006 Don
was inducted into the NAPT Hall of Fame.

Ed
Donn
Calhoun, Georgia
With nearly 40 years experience in the education field, Ed
served as the director of transportation for districts in
Maryland and Georgia. He has been elected president of the
National Association of Pupil Transportation twice in his
career, and has also been president of the Georgia and
Maryland State organizations. A consultant on pupil
transportation issues to school board associations, Ed was
inducted into the NAPT Hall of Fame in 2001.

Robert
Pape
Long Island, New York
With over 25 years experience in the industry, Robert is the
past president of the National Association for Pupil
Transportation. Working for the past 19 years as director of
transportation for the Lawrence Public Schools, he has also
served as a board member of the New York State Association for
Pupil Transportation as well as first president of the Pupil Transportation
Safety Institute. He has served as a delegate on the National
School Bus Standards Conference in 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000, and is
consulted regularly on pupil transportation safety issues across the
United States. |

Don
Paull
Georgetown, Texas
After serving for 10 years as President and CEO of Capital Bus Sales, a Texas
school bus dealer, Don sold the business in June, 2008. He previously was
employed as director of transportation for several Texas school districts
over a period of 22 years. Don also has served as president of both the
National Association of Pupil Transportation and the Texas Association of
Pupil Transportation. He was a delegate to the 1985 and 1990 National
School Bus Standards Conferences and served on several writing committees
for those conferences.

Ken Hedgecock
High Point, North Carolina
Ken Hedgecock is the Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Service for Thomas Built Buses, Inc.
of High Point, North Carolina. Prior to assuming this position, Ken served as Director of North American
Sales, Corporate Sales Training Manager, and Regional Sales Manager. He also has served as a
Spanish teacher, basketball coach and assistant principal previous to his employment with Thomas.
He resides in Oak Ridge, N.C. with his wife Suzanne and their two children, Ethan and Megan. |

Don
Tudor
Columbia, South Carolina
Donald Tudor is the director of transportation for the South Carolina Department of Education.
Don's earliest involvement in the transportation industry began in the early 1970s, when he helped
to establish a regional transit authority in South Carolina. During the 1990s, Don assisted in
a campaign to prohibit the use of 15-passenger vans for school transportation. Don served on the
NAPT Board of Directors for six years as the southeast, Region 2 Director and he was the secretary
and treasurer for four years. He is a longtime member of the National Association of State Directors
of Pupil Transportation Services where he has served as regional director and treasurer. He also served
as a board member of the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute. Since 1991, he has contributed time to
the National Congress on School Transportation, and the Southeastern States Pupil Transportation
Conference, where he has served as president. |

J. Steven Kalmes CDPT
Anchorage, Alaska
Steve has been Director of Transportation for the Anchorage School District for the past
23 years. He has an additional 10 years of experience in Kansas and Missouri. Steve is
the past President of the National Association for Pupil Transportation and The Missouri
Association of Pupil Transportation and served as Chairman of the National BUS Council.
He was Transportation Chairman for the 1996 Arctic Winter Games and Transportation
Commissioner for the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games and serves as the Chairman
of the NAPT Training Committee which oversees the NAPT Professional Development Series.
